Historical Summary
Roddey's 4th Alabama Cavalry fiercely defended northern Alabama and Tennessee against Union incursions. They famously pursued Colonel Abel Streight's 1863 raid, fighting at Day's Gap, and later fought desperately against Wilson's Raid to defend Selma in 1865.
