2008 Educational Day
Educational Stations

Cavalry

Horses and their riders demonstrate their tactics.

Infantry
The foot soldiers show how they keep their weapons and themselves ready for battle.

Artillery
The cannons and their attendants show how they load and maneuver on the battlefield

Medical
The doctors and nurses reveal how they take care of the wounded soldiers.

Comm.
See how the camps, the troops, and the others communicated with one another.

Civilian
See how the civilians of that time lived and supported the army.  Watch as they live off the land.

is dedicated to Education, with two identical programs for prereigistered schools to attend, at no cost to the students.  Please fill out the form below and submit.

All registered groups must arrive a MINIMUM of 30 minutes prior to the start of their program. 

All attendees must dress appropriately for the weather, hats/sunscreen or rain wear.  Check the local forecast prior to leaving.  Also, the terrain can be rough, so comfortable walking shoes are needed.  NO OPEN TOE SHOES PERMITTED!

The two programs, Morning 9:00am - 1100am and Afternoon 12:30pm - 2:30pm consist of a variety of Civil War Stations where the students are introduced to True to Life events, demonstrations, and activities.  At these stations they will be shown Civil War Era articles and given presentations as to the specifics of that particular point of interest.

Between the two programs there will be a battle/skirmish reenactment, complete with cavalry charges, soldiers, and cannon fire.

The students are required to bring their own lunch and drink.  Cookies and Fruit will be available at no cost.  Additional drinks will be available for purchase for $1.
